ACER has today opened a consultation on whether to adopt the ISO 20022 protocol for use in exposure reporting under REMIT II. ISO 20022 has been in use for EMIR since REFIT and is also in wider use in other forms of financial reporting. The consultation examines whether the use of this standard protocol offers advantages compared to non use. It does not cover the details of the exposure reporting itself which will likely be the subject of further discussion. The consultation page can be found here and the document here.
Exposure reporting will be part of the changed REMIT reporting which is part of REMIT II. The market awaits adoption of a new Implementing Regulation which will specify how the reporting will work in more detail and will be followed by updated documents and schemas from ACER before the new rules start (see here).
