In the US, this article on Lexology by Shearman &Sterling LLP describes a further action in the issues around wheat futures manipulation, which started in the middle of last year (see here). The full ruling is here.
Also in the US, this article on Lexology by Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP looks at a series of violations on the CME involving wash trading, disruptive trading and position limits breaches.
In China, the Dalian Commodities Exchange announced here that they had opened 116 investigations in Q4 into “abnormal activity”.
In Switzerland, FINMA has fined a CEO 730,000 Swiss Francs for insider trading and banned them from certain activities. The matter is described here on the Swiss Info web site.
The year has started with several anti abuse cases worldwide, continuing the trend of last year. It is likely that more such cases will be announced in the coming months.
