Ofgem have today made this announcement stating that following an investigation, it is proposed that SSE Generation Limited make a payment of 9.78 million GBP due to an inadvertent breach of the Transmission Constraint Licence Condition (TCLC). The activity concerned occurred in May 2020 and relates to Foyers pumped storage power station, located in Northern Scotland. TCLC prohibits generators in Great Britain from obtaining “excessive benefit” when operating behind a transmission constraint.
