FCA issues commodity derivatives policy – Ofgem chief supports zonal pricing

The UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has issued this policy document on the future of the commodity derivatives regime in the UK. Several topics are covered including position limits and management and also the Ancillary Activity Exemption. The AAE changes are postponed until 2027.

Ofgem’s CEO, Jonathan Brearley, has been reported here on the Current News web site as expressing a view that Great Britain should move to a zonal pricing model as part of the REMA (Review of Electricity Market Arrangements).
