The period of high demand with low renewable generation last winter in Germany (“Dunkelflaute”), which led to high prices, has been investigated by several German government agencies including Bundesnetzagentur , the German National Regulatory Authority. The investigations have concluded that there was no evidence of a major wrongdoing and that the high prices were the result of insufficient “controllable capacity”.
