Article on regulatory change and architecture

See here for an article by Ian Sutherland on The OTC Space about implementing regulatory change and technology. While the article is focused on banking , the energy and commodity sector is in the process of grappling with similar issues. These are the ones of whether to approach regulatory change on a strategic or tactical basis, how to manage the increased regulatory load, and how to organise a company so that change is managed in a sustainable manner as the work load increases.

Although some of the rules are different, we can expect the workload to continue to increase over the coming years, whether because of Brexit (as mentioned in the article), or because of more sector specific regulation, for example due to market changes because of the Winter Package or changes in transparency regulations. Several years into the regulatory changes, many are now seeing that a move to a more strategic approach is an optimal way to keep compliant, contain costs, and possibly reap some other benefits.
