The release of CpML version 5 was announced at ETOT today. the management of CpML was recently separated from EFET and is now run by an independent entity, overseen by the CIO forum, which appears to be going strong.

It is now anticipated that vendors and services will start to use CpML as a standard. A schema is only a standard if it is in common use. It will be interesting to see which ETRM vendors support it first. At least two EMIR TRs will support it by the trade reporting deadline of February 12th 2014.
