Following its adoption by the European Commission a few weeks ago(see here), the amended Regulatory technical Standard (RTS) on EMIR reporting has now been published in the Official Journal of the European Union, and can be found here. This means that the start date for the new reporting formats is 1st November 2017. It also confirms the delay of the final stage of backloading under EMIR for two years until 12 February 2019.

The main impact for the energy and commodity trading industry will be the changes in reporting, and the backloading delay, which has the potential for implementation difficulty. There are also several other important changes, which are detailed here on the EMIR Reporting web site.
