Information on the new EMIR RTS

The new EMIR Regulatory Technical Standard (RTS) will start to apply from 1st November 2017 (see here).  See here for a link to a video on The OTC Space with Elena Gaetini of RegTek discussing the new RTS. REGIS-TR will hold a webinar about the new RTS on 21st June. The link to register can be found here.

This article by Shanny Basar on the Markets Media web site refers to attempts by the European Commission to simplify reporting. It refers to comments made by Andrew Douglas, the CEO of DTCC, on the initiative by the Commission to rationalise the many reporting streams faced by market participants, especially financial companies. Reporting rules such as EMIR, MiFID II in its various forms and SFTR lead to multiple requirements. The desire appears to be to converge on less streams when the same data is required for multiple purposes.
