Following the announcement of a $16m settlement for market manipulation in wheat futures in the US earlier this week (see here), the CFTC has withdrawn the press release. A former JP Morgan metals trader has pleaded guilty to charges of spoofing in precious metals futures contracts on NYMEX and COMEX. The announcement from the Department of Justice can be found here. Sentencing is scheduled for February 2020. According to this article on FT.com he plea follows another case in November 2018 (see here). The case is also discussed here on the CNBC web site.
