Fines, forums and more

Several pieces of news have come to light over the past days while we have been offline:

ACER released the latest version of the REMIT Quarterly, which can be found here. It includes an article on “non commercial exchanges” and also announces this year’s REMIT forum, which will be held online on the 5th December.

In Italy, another REMIT sanction has been announced, this time relating to Inside Information disclosures under REMIT Article 4. The announcement in Italian can be found here.It follows another recent announcement (see here).

In the Netherlands, the ACM has made this announcement following an investigation into the entry of incorrect orders on the wholesale gas market and its consequences. The market participant involved has had to pay back 2.4EUR and this further guidance has been issued on the topic.

In the US, 4 financial institutions have been fined a total of $260m for failures to properly record and monitor the use of messaging apps. The press release by the CFTC can be found here.

In Denmark Forsyningstilsynet has announced a REMIT event, to be held in Copenhagen on 6th October. It follows some REMIT cases earlier this year (see here) The announcement can be found here.
