End of year updates – REMIT consultation, UK AAT, fines and more

This catch up post summarises a few pieces of news over the last weeks:

ACER has today announced that they will run a consultation in January and February on whether to use the ISO 20022 standard for exposure reporting under REMIT II when it eventually starts. The consultation does not cover other aspects of exposure reporting, whose final composition is not yet public due to the REMIT II Implementing Regulation not yet having been adopted (see here). The announcement can be found here.

The UK’s Financial Conduct Authority(FCA) has announced how the UK MIFID II Ancillary Activity Test should be run from Q1 2027. This follows a consultation earlier this year (see here). The new version of the test will be similar to the test now used in the EU. There has been a temporary version of the test in use since Brexit. The document can be found here.

The first fine under the new Ukrainian REMIT for manipulation in the balancing market has been issued. More information can be found here on the Energy Community web site.

Finally ESMA has release this report on STORs (Suspicious Transaction or Order Reports) submitted under MAR to EU National Competent Authorities in 2024. It can be found here.

All at ETR Advisory wish readers a happy holiday season and new year. We will be back in 2026 to provide further free of charge high level updates.
