Trayport and Ancoa have just issued this press release announcing that Ancoa have become a Trayport Certified Software Provider (CSP). The certification covers a link between Ancoa’s surveillance software and data from Trayport’s platforms and feeds.

Interest in surveillance systems within the energy and commodities sector has risen over the last year, due to two factors:

Firstly, the application of the Market Abuse Regulation(MAR) from the 3rd July 2016 requires most market participants to implement “effective motioning”, spanning technology, processes and procedures, training and Suspicious Order and  Transaction Reporting.

Secondly, the passing of the final REMIT reporting deadline on 6th July 2016 means that ACER and National Regulatory Authorities (NRAs) is or will be monitoring much energy data, either from that date or in the near future.

As a result of this, and increasing scrutiny from both energy and financial regulators, most market participants are undertaking improvements to their monitoring capability.
