ESMA has issued “portability guidelines” for EMIR Trade Repositories(TR), to be followed when data is to be transferred from one TR to another. This could occur if a market participant requests it, or if a TR ceases operation. The press release can be found here and the document here. At present the guidelines for doing this are inconsistent, and as stated in the document, the transfer of data often leads to incorrect information being sent. The document will assist in keeping the data consistent, as well as  the process of keeping the “TR market” competitive.

The guidelines apply from 16th October 2017, only 2 weeks before the new EMIR reporting standards start ti apply, from 1st November (see here).
