An article has been published here on the EURACTIV web site by Christoph Maurer and Lion Hirth arguing against the proposed market interventions in Spain and Portugal. These are being considered following a meeting of the European Council in March, as reported here on the Euro Weekly web site. This follows other push back last week (see here).
This article on the FT web site reports on this action brought against several traders for their part in the negative oil prices seen in 2020 (see here). the article includes excerpts from Instant messaging conversations which are alleged to show collusion in manipulating WTI prices.
The two traders involved in a long running case (see here) concerned spoofing in precious metals futures formerly of Deutsche Bank have each been fined $150,000. The CFTC press release can be found here.
